Table Mountain to the Winelands

A quiet day of walking, wine and wonder

I’ll meet you at your hotel, our vehicle loaded with everything we need, and from there we’ll begin our day heading to the foothills of Table Mountain.

All you’ll need is a pair of comfortable walking shoes and a windbreaker, and I’ll bring the rest. We’ll take a 30-minute stroll up to Kloof Corner and enjoy a cup of freshly brewed coffee while taking in the breathtaking views of the city and coast. Expect chattering Orange-breasted Sunbirds, Cape Sugarbirds, and the honeyed scent of fynbos to awaken your senses as the city unfurls below.

After our coffee and a local snack, we’ll head down the mountain, hop in the car, and make our way to one of the smaller outlying wine regions. Here, we swap coffee for wine and mountains for vineyards as we join friends who make the wine and explore the fascinating evolution of the South African wine industry. If time is tight or you'd prefer less travel, we can visit the vineyards of Constantia just 15 minutes away, and perhaps even sneak into Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens for some curated wildness.

Then to lunch: we’ll find a quiet table at a top eatery and enjoy the gastronomic delights that Cape Town is fast becoming known for. After a leisurely meal, we can walk another mountain trail, visit a different farm, or explore the streets of a charming vineyard town. Museums, galleries, and shops can easily weave into the day depending on your interests.

The afternoon may roll into evening at a local wine bar, or we can return to your hotel to reflect on a day well spent.

We can keep the itinerary tight and packed, or leave space to breathe. I’ll guide the flow and take my cue from you.
